The City of Calhoun operates the Billy Bearden Recreation Center, Palmer Memorial Park, and Clarence E. Harris River Park. The City is continuing to develop 58.5 acres off of McDaniel Station Road that will eventually be linked to the existing Palmer Memorial Park. The Recreation Department currently operates a total of 12 softball and baseball fields, 1 gymnasium, soccer complex with 4 fields, 1 football field, 15 tennis courts, pickle ball courts, 2 non-purpose fields, paved walking trails, 1 pool and several acres of green space.
The Recreation Department currently offers youth baseball, softball, spring and fall soccer, football, cheerleading, basketball, swim lessons, and is also host to district, regional and state baseball, softball, basketball soccer, and football tournaments. The Recreation Department also offers summer camps for children ages 8 – 12, Stars Program for children with special needs, and adult athletic programming. The swimming pool is home to the Calhoun Blue Barracudas swim team, and is also open to the public daily late May through August. The swimming pool is also available for swim practices. The Calhoun Recreation Department serves over 30,000 citizens annually.
Additional athletic facilities are operated by Calhoun City Schools.

New McDaniel Station Road Complex features a centralized concession stand and score booth, restrooms, P.A system, electronic scoreboards, covered dug-outs on all fields, bleacher style seating on all fields, easy access from parking lot, permanent and removable fencing.

One (1) lighted field. Field is regulation 100 yards.
Features: P.A. system, scoreboard, concessions, restrooms, spectator bleachers for 2,500.

Four (4) lighted fields.
Fields are sized for four (4) different age groups; U12, U10, U8, U6.
Features: scoreboards, concessions, restrooms, walking track, parking. Spectators may bring their own chairs.
Fifteen (15) lighted asphalt courts, all outdoors.
Features: parking, restrooms, pro instructor. Home of the Sequoyah Tennis Association and Calhoun High School Tennis Team.
Past Tournaments: United States Tennis Association (USTA), Georgia High School Region Tournaments.
