Georgia String Band Festival
The Georgia String Band Festival is back for another year, so mark your 2024 calendar. The event will be held from Friday, March 22 – Saturday, March 23 at downtown Harris Arts Center (212 S. Wall St.) This year’s festival kicks off Friday night at 7:00 p.m. with performances from some of the best and brightest old-time performers.
Watch multi-instrumentalist Hubby Jenkins perform and listen as he shares his knowledge of traditional American music. General admission tickets for the concert are $25. The prize for this year’s competition is $2000 in cash, and ribbons will be awarded in the following categories: Singing, Buck Dancing, Banjo, String Bands, and Fiddle. Guests can enjoy complimentary coffee, and food and drinks will be available for purchase at the event.
