KICK OFF THE HOLIDAYS AT CALHOUN’S MERRY & BRIGHT WEEKEND!

Get ready to kick off the holiday season with a Merry & Bright Weekend in Downtown Calhoun! This festive celebration begins on Saturday, November 23rd, with late shopping in our charming local boutiques, where you can find unique gifts and treasures for everyone on your list. At 6:00 PM, gather with friends and family for the annual Calhoun City and Gordon County Christmas Tree Lightings, a magical moment that officially starts the holiday season. While you’re downtown, don’t miss the chance to visit Santa and Mrs. Claus at City Hall or snap a photo with the Grinch at the Gordon County Courthouse from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Enjoy live holiday music on the porch of the Harris Arts Center, sing along to Christmas carols, and warm up with refreshments at the courthouse. To wrap up the evening, head to the Harris Arts Center at 7:00 PM for the Calhoun Community Chorus’ annual holiday concert, “Beatles & Reindeer, Too.”

The festivities continue on Sunday, November 24th, with the 2024 Holiday Open House from 1:00 to 6:00 PM. Explore local shops, enjoy festive deals, and find special gifts to make this season extra memorable. Then, hop aboard the holiday magic train with a showing of The Polar Express at the historic GEM Theatre, with screenings at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM.

Now – December 8th: Harris Arts Center Festival of Trees

Now until December 8th, the Harris Arts Center invites you to the 20th Annual Festival of Trees. Local businesses and individuals sponsor fully decorated trees, wreaths, centerpieces, and specialty gift baskets, each available for silent auction. Whether you choose to visit in person or prefer to place your bids online, your participation supports the center’s artistic programming. December 6-20th: Snowman Spectacular

This year’s event kicks off on Friday, December 6, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with an all-new, family-friendly Kickoff Night packed with exciting activities for all ages.
